The Credentials of Dave Funderburg

Mr. Funderburg began his communications career with Southern Bell in 1974. During his tenure with Southern Bell and ATT, he held the titles of Communications Consultant, Phone Power Specialist (telemarketing specialist) and Account Executive / Industry Consultant. His duties and responsibilities included all phases of telecommunications design, administration, management and planning. This covered telecommunications systems ranging in size from a few telephones to thousands and required extensive expertise in voice (WATS and private line) and data networking.

In addition to the hands-on technical and administrative telecommunications experience he gained during his 10 years of service with the Bell System, he also received in excess of 1,400 hours of classroom training covering the full line of Bell System network and hardware offerings in both voice and data services, system study methodology, communications project management, and in depth training on other services available in the marketplace. In 1982, he was certified by AT&T as an Industry Consultant. He has continued his professional education and holds certificates of completion for the Society of Telecommunications Consultant's courses in Transmission Media, Project Management and Switching Systems.

Responding to the large telecommunications users' need for assistance in today's confused environment, Mr. Funderburg resigned his position with AT&T Information Systems in December of 1983 and formed the independent telecommunications consulting firm of DJF Associates, Inc.

Mr. Funderburg makes presentations to business and civic groups on the increasingly complex role of telecommunications in today's business environment as well as having appeared as a guest lecturer on telecommunications at area colleges.
